Be Present to the beauty around you

Monday, March 17th, 2008

Spring in the Sonoran desert is absolutely gorgeous. Whenever I am outside, I try to become present to nature and soak in all that good energy.

No matter how many times I see a saguaro cactus, I am always in awe how majestic it looks! (Did you know the saguaro only lives about 200 years and it takes 50 years to sprout arms?)

Last week, my daughter and I went to the Desert Botanical Garden. The live butterfly exhibit was filled with beautiful butterflies. My daughter was enthralled when they kept landing her and one of them decided to perch on her hand for 10 minutes!

Letting your Light Shine!

Friday, September 21st, 2007

Today is the start of the Motherhood Redefined conference, an event just for moms. I will be speaking and teaching a workshop on “Creating a Life You Love”. I’m grateful for the opportunity to help other moms begin the process of finding their True Self and live a live they love.

Also, today is the International Day of Peace, which reminds me of one of my favorite quotes from A Return To Love by author, Mariannne Williamson:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

I encourage you to look within at your fears and see how you can find peace within yourself to let your beauty and light shine.
